1. Where do I register my child for youth sports?
A. Youth Sports registration is handled at your local community center. You can now download the form from youth sports homepage and take it to the center with you.
2. How can I become a volunteer coach?
A. Complete the registration form, Veri-fye background check form and attend the pre-season coaches meeting.
3. Are volunteer coaches trained? If so, what is the process and how long does it take and what does it cost?
A. At least one coach per team is trained throught the NYSCA. To be NYSCA certified you must attend and complete a three hour course held be our clinician. All cost for certification are incurred by the City of Fort Worth Athletics Section.
4. How many times a week are games scheduled and how long does the season last?
A. Games are held once a week and seasons typically run for approximately eight (8) weeks.
5. Are the youth leagues affiliated with any type of governing body?
A. Yes . All seasonal sports are sponsored by the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation. (TAAF)
6. How do the teams coordinate practice times?
A. Each team is allocated one free rental per week/ per sport that is coordinated by the coach.
7. What do I need to register my child for youth sports?
A. To register your child you need a county issued birth certficate, valid City of Fort Worth membership cared (obtained from your local community), and a completed registration form.
1. Is it mandatory for teams to pay the registration fee prior to each season?
A. Yes. Teams must pay their full registration fee prior to the fisrt game in order to play.
2. Do teams recieve any free practice time as a part of their registration fee?
A. No. Teams who elect to practice may reserve a field(s) at our standard rate.
3. Are any types of awards provided for the winning teams?
A. Yes. T-shirts are provided for each player for the league and tournament champions.
4. How many times a week are games scheduled and ho long do seasons last?
A. Games are held once a week and each team receieves a ten game schedule.
5. Is there any type of play-off system?
A. Yes. Play-off games are added for the top two teams of each league after the 10 game season.
6. Will equipment and jerseys be furnished as part of my registration fee?
A. No. All teams must furnish their own equipment and jerseys are mandatory by game 3.
1. What is the operating season for the pools?
A. All pools open Memorial Day weekend. Sylvania, Como, Hillside, Kellis, Marine, and Sycamore all close on the second Sunday of August. Forest Park is open every weekend through Labor Day.
2. What are the pools operating hours?
A. The pools are open Tuesday through Sunday from 1pm to 7pm. Except for holidays. All pools are closed on Mondays
3. Do you offer swim lessons?
A. Yes. Swim lessons are available Forest Park, Sylvania, and Marines Pools. There are four, two week sessions throughout the summer. The sessions run Tuesday through Friday and cost $20 per session. Note: To participate in swim lessons you must be 4 years old and up.
4. How do I register for swim lessons?
A. You can register for swim lessons at all seven City of Fort Worth Swimming Pools. Note: No registration will be accepted on the first day of class.

7. Are the pools available to rent for private parties?
A. Yes. Rentals are on a first come first serve basis and are based on availability and staffing. Please call for more information.
